The Dance

“When I first started dancing, I was around 7-8 and here I am, I’ve danced for 20 years. Dancing actually brought me closer to Jewish folklore and to Judaism in general. My father is Jewish, and we used to go to the Jewish Community every day, and afterwards we danced. I also danced with my mum, over there and at home. My mum is now separated from dad, and when I dance, I dance at home by myself. I cannot dance with my mum now, now I can dance by myself. Even if I’m learning something new, I have to do everything by myself. My mum isn’t here to dance with me. It’s not a problem, actually. You learn this with time.”
