Zoran

Zoran is a physician currently specialising in internal medicine. His grandfather Lazar was the Orthodox parson of Osijek from 1959 until 1970, and his father Milorad was a physician who wrote numerous papers on the history of Osijek’s Serbs. Zoran followed in their footsteps. He incorporated the six-year research of cultural heritage of Osijek’s Serbs in the monograph “Serbian Cultural, Sports and Artisanal Associations in Osijek.”

 

My family have traced our ancestry roots for generations; they moved to this city in the late 16th century, and are mentioned in the Orthodox Church protocol in the mid-18th century. I truly think that I have every right to say I hail from here.

The book “Serbian Cultural, Sports and Artisanal Associations in Osijek” by Zoran Mišković illustrates the history of the Serbian community in Osijek through its associations from the 19th century to the present day. The author accentuates their contribution to the preservation of identity and tradition of Serbs in Osijek. The book is important for better understanding of the city’s multicultural heritage.

Prvi rođendan

The celebration of Zoran Mišković’s first birthday on 30 March 1994, in the family home on Reisnerova Street. Grandfather Lazar Mišković, the Orthodox parson of Osijek since 1959 until his retirement in 1970, is sat at the head of the table next to his grandson Zoran in his grandmother’s lap, while Zoran’s father Milorad, a physician, is standing behind his father Lazar. Zoran’s grandfather passed two months later.
