Bojan Amanović

Bojan studied history and pedagogy in Osijek. For eight years, he worked as a tutor at the SOS Youth Community in Osijek. He prepared around 40 young people for independent living and the labour market.
Leaving the SOS Youth Community in Osijek was quite emotional for me. I was transferred to a new position at the National Office as youth care counsellor. I had wanted it for a long time, but this transfer to a new workplace was nevertheless a shock, since I knew I had to say goodbye to my colleagues and the children. The SOS Youth Community in Osijek is the place where I matured, where I expanded my horizons and worldviews. I was definitely marked by the educational work with young people and my work in the social care system.
In March of 2024, the wards of the SOS Youth Community in Osijek gave their former tutor Bojan Amanović a letter and a poem as a show of gratitude, on the occasion of his transfer to a new position as youth care counsellor at the National Office of the SOS Children’s Village Croatia and his moving to Zagreb.
