“When I was six years old, my father bought a donkey on which I learned to ride. Today, I’m a horse breeder as was my father before me. My son is three and a half years old, and he already has a little horse of his own. Hopefully, he will continue our family tradition.”
Horse equipment. A horse used to be the only means of transport for the Roma people, and also served as an aid during hard labour in the woods. Today, Sanuel is one of few horse breeders in Baranja, thus keeping this waning Romani tradition alive.
